Costa KNOCKED OUT Dan Ige with Spinning Back Kick – UFC Houston

At UFC Fight Night 267 in Houston, Brazilian featherweight Melquizael “The Dalmatian” Costa delivered a highlight-reel finish that instantly became one of the most talked-about moments of the weekend.

Costa, a 29-year-old contender with a professional record of roughly 26-7, has been on a strong run in the featherweight division and entered the bout riding a six-fight win streak against seasoned competition.

Facing off with Dan Ige, a rugged 34-year-old UFC veteran known for his durability and veteran savvy (who had never been finished before in his UFC career), Costa showcased his striking precision and timing.

Near the end of the first round, he timed a perfectly spun back kick — one of only a handful in UFC history — that landed flush as Ige attempted to close distance. The blow dropped Ige, and Costa followed with ground strikes to force a stoppage at 4:56 of Round 1, marking Ige’s first stoppage loss and likely propelling Costa into the featherweight rankings.

The knockout has drawn widespread praise from fighters and fans alike and could earn Costa a performance bonus as well as high-profile matchups down the line.
